Natural del Distrito de Supe, Provincia de Barranca, licenciado en Enfermería que ha desarrollado la labor académica por 23 años, consolidándose como docente principal y de dedicación exclusiva en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad Peruana Unión (UPeU). Cuenta con el grado de maestro en enfermería con mención en cuidado del adulto, estudios de maestría en administración y gerencia Social, Doctor en ciencias de la enfermería, además cuenta con el título de especialista en administración y gestión. Ha sido director de Planificación y desarrollo por trece años y director de calidad y acreditación por dos años en la UPeU. Cuenta con amplia experiencia en la gestión académica pues se desempeñó como secretario académico y decano de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la UPeU. Es docente investigador RENACYT y ha publicado varios artículos científicos en Scopus. Desde el 2020 se desenvuelve como Director General de la Universidad Peruana Unión Campus Tarapoto. Cuenta con experiencia asesorando organizaciones en el ámbito nacional e internacional en temas de planificación estratégica, gestión por procesos, gestión y liderazgo gerencial entre otros. Actualmente ejerce el cargo de Vicerrector Académico de la Universidad Peruana Unión.

Es licenciado en Administración de Empresas, con especialización en Alta Dirección y CFO Estratégico. Posee los grados académicos de Magíster y Doctor en Administración de Negocios.
Nació el 11 de septiembre del 1973, en la ciudad de Piura. Es graduado en Administración de Empresas, tiene una especialización en Alta Dirección CFO Estratégico y es magister y doctor en Administración de Negocios.
Durante su carrera profesional ha servido en diferentes instituciones como Gerente de Servicios de la Universidad Peruana Unión del 2002 al 2003, como Gerente de Comercialización de Productos Unión del 2004 al 2005, como Gerente Financiero de la UPeU Filial Juliaca del 2006 al 2007, como Tesorero de la Asociación Peruana Central Norte del 2008 al 2011, como Gerente General de la Universidad Peruana Unión del 2012 al 2015, como Tesorero de la Unión Peruana del Norte del 2016 a junio de 2022 y a partir de julio de 2022 cumple la función de Rector de la Universidad Peruana Unión.
Casado con Karin Cuba Curie y fruto de ese amor tienen tres hijos: Marcelo, Valeria y Paulo

Doctor en Administración, Maestro en Educación con mención en Investigación y Docencia Universitaria, Licenciado en Educación con especialidad en Matemática y Computación. Asimismo, cuenta con amplia experiencia como especialista en análisis de datos para estudios de ciencias sociales y de la salud, a su sólida formación académica se suma su expertise en el uso de herramientas pedagógicas de Inteligencia Artificial, innovación educativa y tecnologías del aprendizaje. Se desempeñó como director Académico de la UPeU (2022-2023), Coordinador de Gestión de la Calidad de la UPeU y docente de Matemática. Abel Apaza se desempeña actualmente como Director Asociado de Educación en la División Sudamericana. Es profesor de Inglés y posee una maestría en Enseñanza del Idioma Inglés y un doctorado en Gestión Educativa. Trabajó por 6 años como profesor docente en diversas escuelas de la red adventista. Laboró por 15 años en la Universidad Peruana Unión, desempeñandose como docente, director del Instituto de Idiomas en la sede de Juliaca, director de la Escuela de Educación y Secretario Académico de la Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y Educación. El 2016 recibe el llamado a servir a la iglesia como director de Educación y Libertad Religiosa en la Unión Peruana Sur y desde el 2023 sirve a la iglesia como Director Asociado de Educación an la División Sudamericana en su sede central de Brasilia. Está casado con Shirley Ordinola quien también es maestra y Dios los ha bendecido con dos hijos: Jesuel y Kristian.

Docente universitario con más de 18 años de experiencia en la educación superior, en modalidades presencial y virtual, en programas de pregrado y posgrado. Se ha desempeñado como coordinador de educación a distancia en una universidad peruana, y actualmente desarrolla su labor como mentor y consultor en Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) e Inteligencia Artificial Generativa, asesorando a instituciones académicas de Perú y Colombia.
Es CEO Fundador del Instituto de Tecnologías para la Educación (ITED), una empresa digital dedicada a la formación y capacitación en la integración de la inteligencia artificial en la enseñanza y la investigación, impulsando el desarrollo académico y profesional de las universidades del Perú y Latinoamérica.
Su misión es promover una educación más innovadora, ética y humanizada, integrando de forma responsable la inteligencia artificial en la enseñanza, el aprendizaje y la investigación académica.
